Creating an Initial Spark Table for Tuning. This is a tool for establishing a baseline spark advance table for your tuning efforts with MegaSquirt® or MicroSquirt® controllers. Maximum Spark Duration (ms) (max_spk_dur) is the amount of time your MegaSquirtII™ (or MicroSquirt®) controller tries to wait before starting another charging cycle. MSII tries to fit the dwell time + max. spark duration into the time between sparks. If it can fit them, then the full dwell time is used.
Ignition System Basics. The four stroke gasoline engine relies upon an ignition system that can deliver an electric current across the spark plug gap. Air and fuel is drawn into a cylinder during the intake stroke. This mixture is then compressed to raise the temperature of the air fuel mixture. As the temperature increases, the fuel is vaporized.
· Your dwell, and thus your points gap, needs to be set before you get out the timing light. To set the dwell, remove the distributor cap and rotor, ground the coil wire and remove all the spark plugs from the engine. Set up your dwell meter and hook up a remote starter.
A dwell meter connected between the distributor or ignition coil and earth registers the dwell angle on a scale, and must remain steady at the prescribed figure while the engine is running. If the dwell angle is not the same for all cylinders, the result is rough running and poor fuel economy because the moment the sparkplug fires varies from cylinder to cylinder.
Failing that, you can try is setting the dwell to milliseconds while idling. If the engine runs rough or dies, the spark output setting is likely correct (since the coil doesn't have enough current to make a reasonable spark). Note that extended running with the Spark Output set incorrectly can burn out the coil and/or the module.
Question 2 calculations There are a couple ways to approach this. Figure out how much fertilizer is applied per acre: 7,692 #2648 / 25 ac = #2648/ac Now calculate how much elemental P and K are applied in #2648/ac.
